The new CAD is assumed to be a file iPad 2022 It was leaked, revealing an updated tablet with flat sides and a larger screen — but no sign of a headphone jack.
These pictures come by MySmartPrice (Opens in a new tab) (Across Apple Insider (Opens in a new tab)), and – if original – they give us fascinating insight into what the GM could look like. The renderers were reportedly obtained from a case maker working on the rumored 10th generation iPad accessories, and at first glance, the device’s interface looks similar to its predecessor, iPad 2021. But while the front camera and home button we all know are there and true, this new menu seems to have bigger bezels on all four sides.
Meanwhile, the back of the tablet pictured here is almost identical to the last generation iPad, which carries a single camera. But, as MySmartPrice points out, it looks like the 2022 iPad will have an LED flash and a camera island — features that the current generation of iPad lacks. According to the leak, the new iPad will measure 9.7 x 7.0 x 0.27 inches. This would make it wider but thinner than the current iPad, which measures 9.8 x 6.8 x 0.29 inches.
One of the biggest takeaways from these offerings is that Apple may remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the standard iPad, as in other iPhones and iPads; There is no indication of this either at the top or bottom of the device.
In one respect, this may make sense, since most Apple devices now use USB instead of 3.5mm for headphones. But on the other hand, it would be a huge jolt; After all, the entry-level iPad is the device most likely to be used in schools or by kids in general — the demographic most likely to use cheaper wired buds.
On the other hand, the renders also show speakers at the top and bottom of the list, indicating support for quad speakers. This would be a major upgrade and would put the 2022 iPad on a par with iPad Pro (2021)And above iPad Mini 6 And the iPad Air (2022 .)), in terms of audio output, which will likely make up for the loss of the 3.5mm jack.
Meanwhile, the power button is located on the top, while the volume buttons are on the side. However, a big mystery is the iPad’s charging port, which is covered by a red mark in the CAD view. Recent rumors say Apple may abandon the Lightning port and introduce USB-C support for the iPad.
As with all rumors, take all of this with a great deal of skepticism. We can’t say for sure that the renders are original and that the new iPad will actually look like this. But based at least on those renders, it looks like the upcoming iPad could have a mix of new and old design features.
The overall design isn’t drastically different, but the larger screen and flat sides will definitely be a departure from the older models. But like previous standard iPads, the new tablet will keep the large Home button – which is also supposed to act as Touch ID.
Regarding iPad specifications, previous rumors have claimed that the tablet will be powered by the A14 Bionic chip from iPhone 12. This means that there will be a huge performance gap between this and ipad miniwhich contains an A15 chip such as iPhone 13 series. The gap will be bigger when comparing A14 iPad to iPad Air And the iPad Proboth of which are used Apple M1 Chips with additional performance and additional capabilities.
However, the A14 chipset will still apparently mean a 30% increase over the 2021 iPad, which will help power modern apps. Probably an iPad 2022 iPadOS 16 Support, but features like theater manager It wouldn’t be possible on the list if it already lacked the M1 chip.
The new iPad is expected to be launched this fall. Given how this season is approaching, we hope to hear more news every now and then. In the meantime, check out iPad 2022 Rumors center for the latest in it.
